Spring Break Mission Trips
Every Spring Break a group of students joined with other area volunteers (staff, faculty, etc) pack their bags and hit the road to provide service to those in need around the world. We work hard, eat well, enjoy each other’s company, make new friends, and help God’s people. We have been to such exotic places as Mexico City, Cat Island (Bahamas), Santa Rosalia, Baja California Mexico, and Spring Hill, Louisiana. This year we are going to Winter Haven, FL with a detour to Universal Studio’s Harry Potter World! Contact Nancy at nancy.m.hawthorne@vanderbilt.edu for more info.
Room In The Inn
Wesley/Canterbury Fellowship hosts Room in the Inn from November through March. Room in the Inn is a Nashville-based program that feeds and houses the homeless during the winter months at many Nashville-area churches. Homeless people are fed dinner, breakfast and given a sack lunch. They are able to take a shower and have their clothes washed during their stay at the church. Wesley/Canterbury hosts Room in the Inn on some Sunday evenings during the winter months.
Other Activities
Vandy WCF also participates in a variety of other service opportunities throughout the year such as Valentines for Veterans, Relay for Life, Dance Marathon, etc.
